Chile broke Georgian’s hearts

Hosting country Georgia won’t play in eight finals. The match between Georgia and Chile finished with the result 29:24 in favor of South Americans.

Chileans started game actively and took a lead quickly, Georgian players tried to reduce difference, but the lost the half-time with the result 10:18. In the second half game became more tough and fast as the teams tried to fight for each ball. The eight finalist decided in the final minutes and Claudio Lira’s team won the match over the opponents with 5 points difference. Goalkeeper Alexander Khandolishvili was named as the best player from Georgia, J. Baumann De La Barrera was the most valuable from Chile.

“We had very bad start and that’s why we lost the game, We saw that we improved the playing skills in the second half, the reason of lose was weak defense in the first half. Exactly this reason decided the fate of the match” – Beka Orjonikidze, Georgian head coach.

“This match was very hard, we needed 3 goals difference to pass the second round. It was very stressed game for both teams, but I’m very happy” – Claudio Lira, Chilean head coach.

Chile will play against A group leader France and the opponent of Beka Orjonikidze’s team will be known soon.
