Olympic Palace in Tbilisi hosted a Balkan derby: Serbia against Slovenia – Group D match of the Men’s Youth World Championship. Before the game Slovenians held the third position in standings and Serbs were fourth. Slovenians kept that superiority, winning the first half – 20:10. After the break Slovenia played better again and the match ended 36:23.
Top scorers of both teams were named as best players: Milan Iovanovic (LB) of Serbia and Kristjan Horzen (PV) of Slovenia. Both scored 6 goals.
JANEZ KLEMENCIC (Head coach of Slovenia): We played very well in defense and in attack as well. There were some positive and negative sides of our game but I can’t talk about it until I watch the game again.
