The first half of Group D game between Spain and Serbia was high paced and intense, with Spain mostly leading and Serbia trying to catch up on the rivals. The result before the break was 15:14, Spain winning.
The second half turned out to be even more dramatic. Serbia equalized at 20th minute – 23:23, then came forward, but Spain fought till the end and at the very last second Ian Tarrafeta Serrano scored the fantastic winner – 29:28.
It was the third win of Spanish team.
Gonzalo Perez Arce of Spain was named the best player of his side and Stefan Sunajko was the best among Serbians.
JORDI RIBERA ROMANS (Head coach of Spain): It was a very intensive match. Two points were important for us. Our negative side was defense. We have to work more. We suffered to win but we did it.
