At the Men’s Youth World Championship another interesting Scandinavian battle took place. In A group Denmark met Sweden and defeated the opponents with the result 29:26.
Match went mostly equal, especially in the first half, which ended with the logical result 14:14. The beginning of the second half the game went equally again, but from the middle of the second half-time Denmark used Swedish players tiredness and took a lead. Taking an slight advantage made them won over Jerry Hallback’s team with 3 points difference. The best player from Denmark was named Mathias Gidsel and Oskar Sunnefelot was the most valuable from Sweden.
“ It was very important for us. this is very bad that we couldn’t win we really want to, but it’s more two games” – Jerry Hallback, Swedish head coach.
“I think, it was very important game for us. We played better than yesterday and it was very important for us to show ourselves and play better handball. Despite of the lot of mistakes we won and I’m very happy” – Claus Hansen, Danish head coach.
Denmark owns 3 points after a win and a draw, Sweden have 2 points with only win yet. Claus Hansen’s team will meet another Scandinavians, Norway at 16:00 and Sweden will play against France at 18:00 on august 13.
