In the South American derby of Group C between Argentina and Brazil every point was of great importance as both teams lost their first two games and were at the bottom of the table. Probably because of this reason defense in this game outclassed attack and the result before the break was 8:7 in favour of Argentina. In the second half teams played equally until 22th minute when Brazil ran away – 7:0 in 7 minutes. The final result was 22:17 which turned out to be the less amount of goals during the tournament so far.
The best player of Argentinian team was goalkeeper A. Santiago Giovagnola and the best player of Brazil was Guilherme S. Borges Moraes, who scored 8 goals.
CARLOS OSVALDO LOPEZ (Head coach of Argentina): In the first half there were no many differences, but during the second half we had no new ideas, so we lost. Our defense was really good, but attack had many difficulties.
WASHINGTON SILVA (coach of Brazil): The game was very hard, we tried to show our maximum. In the first half we did not try well in attack . In the second half our defense was very mobilized and attack was excellent.
