Spain won the World Junior Championship

The World Junior Championship was won by Spanish team, who beat Denmark 39-38 in the final. The tournament took place on July 18-30 in Algeria, and on August 8-20, at the Tbilisi Olympic Palace will host lower group age Youth World Championship.

Spain won 26-21 against Germany and Denmark beat 37-34 2015 World Champions,France. The hero of the final became Spanish goalkeeper Xoan Ledo. In the extra time, he repelled the seven-meter throw by the Danish player and took the game in overtime. In the overtime, the score was 38-38, Denmark had 14 seconds remained and was attacking with 7 players, without goalkeeper. Ledo repelled the last shot and the last minute, Daniel Duyishbaev scored  goal –  39-38. Spain became U21 World Champion for the first time. The tournament has been held since 1977.
